See & Save

Are there differences between the See & Save data and the meter data I get billed on?
Yes, there may be small differences between the Western Power owned meter and the information collected from your See & Save equipment. Under Western Australian law, only the data collected from the Western Power meter can be used for billing purposes.

However, the See & Save program will give your business a very good indication of how much energy you use so you don’t get caught unprepared for a higher than usual bill.

Can I change or add another See & Save device to monitor
Yes you can. The clamps on your existing See & Save meters can be shifted to monitor different equipment circuits. Alternatively, we can install additional meters to monitor more equipment. In both cases, we’ll arrange an electrician to make this change for you.

To organise a quote for additional monitoring devices for your business, give us a call on 13 13 54 or email our customer service team.

How do I access my See & Save data?

Your data is all stored securely via My Account. Just log in and select the See & Save tab to view your electricity usage.

You may have to wait a moment while My Account updates your current and archived real-time data. You’ll also be able to download related energy saving tips so you can put a plan in place and start seeing your savings.

How does See & Save work?
The See & Save program relies on special monitoring equipment installed at your site. This equipment consists of:
  1. Two or more monitoring meters attached on or near your switchboard.

The meters monitor the energy use to your whole of site and, depending on their power usage, specific equipment circuits that use the most energy or you want measured.

  2. A small gateway that transfers your energy data wirelessly to My Account.

The gateway connects to your internet via an ethernet cable and sends your data every five minutes, allowing you to see the impact of any changes to your electricity use on the connected appliances.

Having detailed visibility of your energy use helps you easily identify energy losses outside of business hours or during down times.

Plus, to help you remove the energy losses and become more efficient; See & Save provides you with your own energy adviser for a year.

It’s important you do not attempt to touch or remove any of the See & Save meters yourself, as a qualified electrician is required.

What if I want to remove a See & Save meter?
If you need to remove a monitoring meter for any reason, please call us on 13 13 54 to organise a quote for an electrician.

For your safety, you should not remove, alter or attempt your own electrical work on the monitoring equipment.

What security measures are used?
Your real-time monitoring meters and gateway communicates with the ZigBee HA profile wireless protocol. All ZigBee communication is encrypted with 256 bit AES keys. This basically means, it uses one of the best encryption techniques to secure your data.

Your gateway comes with a pre-configured See & Save registered domain name. This means your gateway only communicates solely with the See & Saver data server via the internet.

To ensure there is a secure internet connection with the See & Save severs, HTTP encryption is used at all times.
