What about energy storage and batteries?
Batteries allow you to store the free energy your SolarReturn system generates and use it when the sun isn't shining so you can make a SolarReturn anytime of the day or night.
Charge up your knowledge level on batteries
Depending on the setup of your solar system, there are different ways you can connect a battery.
Hybrid - the battery ready solution
With this setup, you need a single 'hybrid' inverter, which are labelled as 'battery ready'. This is a special type of inverter that converts electricity produced from your panels into a usable form for your home, but also intelligently works out when to send charge to your battery (and converts it into a form to be saved).
Dual inverters - the backup ready solution
If you don't have a 'battery ready' hybrid inverter, the dual inverter setup is what you'll need to connect up a battery.
If the battery doesn't already have an inverter built in, you'll need to purchase a second inverter compatible with it. This option (at the moment) is generally more expensive as you'll need to purchase the second inverter.
You'll also be able to use (if setup) a dual inverter solution as a battery backup for your critical household appliances.
