Synergy Assist Trial Terms & Conditions

Participation in the Synergy Assist Trial does not affect your electricity supply agreement with Synergy other than set out in these Terms and Conditions.  
Term Synergy Assist Trial is a pilot product and may not be renewed after the 3 month trial term. The Synergy Assist Trial may be extended at the discretion of Synergy.
Termination fee  There is no fee for terminating participation in the Synergy Assist Trial. 
Eligibility criteria
You may participate in the Synergy Assist Trial if you meet all of the following eligibility criteria, and maintain that eligibility for the duration of the Synergy Assist Trial:
  • You are a residential customer and you live at the premises; 
  • You have an current electricity supply agreement with Synergy;
  • You are invited by Synergy to participate in the Synergy Assist Trial; and 
  • You do not have or require life support equipment at your premises.
Terms and Conditions
  • You agree to enter into a Payment Arrangement for the duration Synergy Assist Trial and be bound by these terms and conditions; 
  • The terms of any Payment Arrangement will apply in addition to these terms unless those terms are inconsistent with these terms.
  • You agree to make payments in accordance with the agreed Payment Arrangement and as outlined on the Payment Arrangement confirmation letter;
  • Payment Arrangements will be based on your average consumption and reviewed regularly; 
  • You agree to be available and willing to speak with Synergy about your Payment Arrangement on a regular basis. If Synergy is unable to contact you after making reasonable efforts and being notified that Synergy request you speak with them, you must contact Synergy within 5 business days;
  • You will engage in a free and independent financial counselling service upon Synergy’s request; 
  • You will communicate with Synergy in a respectful manner; Synergy will still issue you with a standard bimonthly bill during the Synergy Assist Trial; 
  • Synergy will attempt to contact you each time a new bill is issued to re-negotiate your Payment Arrangement to include new charges; 
  • You will not be subject to interest charges while you are a participant in the Synergy Assist Trial;
  • Any standard collection activities in relation to overdue amounts owed to Synergy will be suspended for the duration of your participation in the Synergy Assist Trial;
  • You must ensure Western Power has access to your meter to take required meter readings;
  • If your average [monthly] consumption is more than your capacity to pay, you must be able to demonstrate that steps have been implemented to reduce usage at the premises;
  • Each time you make 3 consecutive instalment payments in accordance with your Payment Arrangement, Synergy will credit an Incentive Payment to your account equal to the average of the instalment payment amounts.  
  • An Incentive Payment will only be paid to reduce the balance you owe Synergy and any amount above what is owed to Synergy will be forfeited;
  • Synergy reserves the right to offer customers additional incentives, at its sole discretion, for participation in the Synergy Assist Trial; 
  • Synergy reserves the right to terminate the Synergy Assist Trial at any time;
  • Synergy will notify you before the Synergy Assist Trial ends or is terminated;  
  • If you do not comply with the eligibility criteria or these terms and conditions, Synergy reserves the right to immediately remove you from the Synergy Assist Trial;
  • Synergy will notify you in writing should you be removed from the Synergy Assist Trial for non-compliance with these terms and conditions; and
  • If you choose to leave the Synergy Assist Trial, you will not be charged a fee;
  • If Synergy terminates the Synergy Assist Trial then Synergy will work with you to manage your outstanding balance and the terms and conditions of your Payment Arrangement will continue to apply (but the terms of the Synergy Assist Trial, including the Incentive Payment, will not apply).
  • If you are removed from the Synergy Assist Trial for non-payment then your Payment Arrangement will also be terminated and Synergy's standard billing and debt collection practices will apply in relation to any amount owed.
  • If you are removed from the Synergy Assist Trial for a reason other than non-payment then the terms and conditions of your Payment Arrangement will continue to apply (but the terms of the Synergy Assist Trial, including the Incentive Payment, will not apply).
  • For the avoidance of doubt, your obligation to pay for electricity consumed under your electricity supply agreement with Synergy is not affected by these terms and conditions.
