How to switch to paperless billing
It’s easy to switch to paperless billing. You can switch to paperless using our self-serve form online or via our online portal, My Account. From My Account, you can manage your billing preferences, view your previous bills, and find other ways to streamline your business energy account.
Log in to My Account
This is the fastest way to switch to paperless billing. Just look for ‘Paperless’ under the ‘Manage your account’ menu when you first log in.

- What are the benefits of paperless billing for your business?

The main benefits are streamlining your billing and reducing paper, which can contribute to reducing your carbon footprint within your business. You can also avoid paying the paper-base fee.
Paperless billing is an easy way to keep track of your Synergy bills online – and you still have the option to save, print or share your bill with other members of your team.
In terms of accessibility, our online Synergy bills (in PDF format) are compatible with screen readers.
- How long does it take to switch to paperless billing?

In most cases, it won’t take more than a few clicks. If you’re already registered for My Account for your business, all you need to do is log in and change your billing preferences.
- I’ve logged into My Account. How do I choose paperless billing?

When you first log in, look for the ‘Manage your account’ section. Find the ‘Paperless’ option and choose ‘Modify’ to select and confirm your preference for paperless billing.
- I’ve logged into My Account. Where do I find my bill?

Select the ‘Bill and Payments’ tab towards the top of your screen.
From this tab, you can find your billing and payment history and download your current or past bills. You can download your bill in PDF, XLSX, CSV or XML format.
- Can my bill be emailed to more than 1 email address?

We’ll only send it to one nominated email address to avoid confusion or payment issues such as double-payment. You can change the default email address at any time in the ‘My details’ section of My Account.
If you would like to share a copy of your bill with others in your team, you can forward your paperless bill to others using your own email account.
- Can we download our business bill in other formats?

Yes, you can download your bill as a PDF and in XLSX, CSV and XML file formats if your device or software is compatible.
If your business uses financial systems such as MYOB, QuickBooks or Xero, many of these systems support these file formats to import or export data.
Please refer to instructions from your choice of financial system relating to which format is required for that system.
- Will I still receive a bill if I switch to Paperless?

Yes. You’ll receive your bill by email (as a PDF attachment) instead of by post.
Your Synergy bill will look the same, but you’ll receive it electronically. You can choose to save, print or share your bill. Paperless billing allows you to manage your bill without paper (unless you choose to print it yourself) and keep your bills together online, through My Account.In the future, if you decide to switch back to receiving your bill in the mail, you can do this – but please note a paper-based billing fee may apply.
