Collie Small Grants Program open for applications
The annual Synergy Collie Small Grants Program is open for applications.
Grants up to $5000 are available to community organisations, charities and not for profits making a difference in the Collie community.
Executive General Manager Thermal Generation, Angie Young, said investing in grassroot programs is an important part of Synergy’s commitment to the Collie community.
“This is the sixth year the Collie Small Grants Program has been making a positive impact in the region,” Ms Young said.
“During that time about $170,000 has been distributed to the community.
“Being able to support grassroots organisations in the Collie community is really important to Synergy, it’s always an honor to hand the cheques over to the recipients knowing the changes that can be made as a result.”
The Collie Small Grants Program supports community groups that deliver social, health, economic and/or environmental benefits.
Recipients from the 2023 round were:
• Collie Eagles Football Club – to upgrade the women’s changeroom, promoting inclusivity and attracting players to a rapidly expanding area of football.
• Collie Volleyball Association – for a new net, poles and pole covers for the court to host the Coal Cup.
• HorsePower Collie – for the purchase of new carriage horse harnesses to be used for programs, such as the new wheelchair carriage program.
• Collie Suicide Prevention Network – to provide printing to support information cards in Aboriginal flag colours, to support the Aboriginal community.
• Collie BMX Club Inc. – for a new racing gate at the track for a safer facility.
• Collie PCYC – to hold six school holiday activities over three school holiday periods.
• Collie Lawn Tennis Club – to purchase updated equipment for a junior coaching program.
The Collie Small Grants Program aligns with Synergy's key investment program themes of inclusivity and empowerment, environment for the future, committed to community and energy leadership.
