Energy credit to relieve cost of living pressures on WA households
The WA Government will be delivering a $400 Household Electricity Credit to every household across the State.
Synergy and Horizon Power electricity accounts were automatically credited $200 over the weekend as part of the first instalment. The rebate reduces electricity bills in the billing cycle from July 9.
A second instalment of the credit, a minimum of $200, will benefit households in the November to January billing cycle.
The Household Electricity Credit is part of the 2023-24 State Budget to help ease cost of living pressures.
• $400 for all eligible residential households
• $500 to around 350,000 vulnerable WA households receiving the Energy Assistance Payment
• $650 for small businesses who use up to 50MWh of electricity per annum
The electricity credits for vulnerable households and small businesses are partly supported by the jointly funded National Energy Bill Relief Fund, with an estimated $116 million contribution from the Commonwealth to WA.
