OzFish Seeds for Sea Snapper program

Environment for the Future 

Synergy is partnering with Ozfish Unlimited to improve the biodiversity of Cockburn Sound, the most intensively used multiple-use marine embayment in WA.

This partnership will fund activities to support seagrass meadows fish habitat and restoration at Cockburn Sound, a significant area for Synergy for the past 50 years and home to the Kwinana Battery Energy Storage System and gas generation operations. As well as providing funding to the Seeds for Snapper project, our team will also help with seagrass fruit harvesting by collecting, counting and processing seagrass fruit.

Synergy staff will participate in shore-based volunteer activities to assist with the seagrass fruit harvesting helping to collect, count, and process seagrass fruit in November and December later this year. Learn more about OzFish Unlimited.

Perth Festival Touring WA Premier Partner

Committed to Communities

Synergy is partnering with Perth Festival to bring world-class arts to regional Western Australia as Premier partner of the Touring WA program. 

This partnership helps the Festival engage with communities across the SWIS ensuring the arts are accessible for all people, wherever they live. 
In 2023, Touring WA reached almost 2,500 people. It brought regional LGBTQI identifying audience members via the ‘Happy Bus’ to see the international performance of Happy Meal in Bunbury and Geraldton, and Noonagar language to the stage in Albany through a collaboration with the renowned Kronos Quartet and Albany-raised Maatakitj.

Synergy and Perth Festival have a shared commitment to creating a positive social impact on communities, and a low impact on the environment. We look forward to being a part of the 2024 program!

Ruah Community Services & Synergy Xmas Lights Trail

Inclusivity and Empowerment

Synergy and Ruah Community Services connect to light up lives at Christmas time. 

The Xmas Lights Trail partnership, ‘Light up a life’, will help fund critical services Ruah Community Services (Ruah) provides each year to more than 30,000 Western Australians escaping trauma or doing it tough.

Ruah is a WA-based independent, not-for-profit community service organisation that has delivered tailored, wrap-around support services for more than 60 years to people experiencing homelessness, family and domestic violence, and mental health challenges. 

The partnership was established in 2022 to invest in community support for vulnerable customers and people experiencing hardship during the holiday period and beyond.

Stars Foundation

Inclusivity and Empowerment

Synergy is partnering with Stars Foundation to improves health, education and employment outcomes for First Nations girls and young women across Australia.
For us, this partnership is a positive way to strengthen cultural engagement at Synergy and encourage these young participants to consider a career in energy!

Stars Foundation’s holistic mentoring program focuses on four pillars designed help young Indigenous women to identify their goals and reach their potential. These include: 

• Education, training and employment 
• Healthy lifestyles
• Wellbeing
• Community, culture and leadership.

Stars Foundation was established in 2015 to address the gender inequity in funding for mentoring programs to help ensure that Indigenous girls have access to the same level of support as boys.

Stars Foundation is currently supporting and mentoring 2,900+ girls and young women across 50+ schools Australia, which includes 1100 girls across 21 schools in WA with nine located in our area of operation - the SWIS with more schools coming on board in 2023.
