Local bright sparks begin careers at Muja Power Station

Four talented South West apprentices started their careers at Synergy in January.

The electrical and mechanical apprentices will spend the next four years with Synergy learning technical skills and gaining the real-world experiences required to progress in their chosen careers.

At the successful completion of their apprenticeships, each will be fully qualified and able to work across a range of environments, including within the energy sector or in other industries.

Synergy Executive General Manager People, Safety and Environment Nadine Dennison welcomed the new apprentices to Synergy and said she was looking forward to seeing each grow and develop in their chosen fields.

“It is exciting for everyone at Synergy to have new apprentices join our organisation and provide them with the rare opportunity to learn their trades within power station environments,” she said.

“Our apprentices are mentored by our dedicated, experienced and highly skilled workforce who share knowledge, skills and support to give them the best possible start to their careers.”

Ms Dennison said apprentices were often attracted to work at Synergy to see firsthand the ins and outs of power generation, while also developing transferrable skills.

“This program is a part of our commitment to provide training and employment opportunities for the local, Collie community,” Ms Dennison said.

“The skills and knowledge our apprentices acquire during their four years with Synergy provide them with the necessary foundations to excel in their chosen future careers.”
