Synergy is hosting a special solar powered event this Sunday from 10am until 2pm to celebrate all things solar!

There'll be a solar superhero photo booth, face painters, an interactive solar installation, plus the chance to win an electric bike worth more than fifteen hundred dollars.
If you can't make it along on the day, you can still join in the fun via entering our SUNday selfie competition!

Simply upload a photo which shows how you like to spend your Sundays in the sun with the hashtag #SUNdaySelfie and you could win an electric bike worth more than $1500!

You can either post the photo to your own Facebook timeline with the hashtag (#SUNdaySelfie) or share the photo on Synergy's Facebook page at Facebook.com/SynergyWA. If the entrant's privacy settings restrict Synergy from accessing the photo, their entry will be deemed ineligible; Full terms and conditions below.

Synergy's SUNday Selfie Social Media Competition

1.     The “Synergy’s SUNday Selfie competition” (the Competition) is a competition run by Electricity Generation and Retail Corporation (trading as Synergy) (ABN 58 673 830 106) (Synergy) on these terms and conditions (the Terms).  Information on how to enter and prizes form part of the Terms.  Submission of an entry is deemed acceptance of the Terms.

2.     Subject to clause 3, entry is open to Western Australian residents who have a Facebook account (Eligible Entrants).  Eligible Entrants under 16 years of age must have parental or guardian consent to enter.

3.     Employees of, and contractors engaged by, Synergy, including their immediate families, are ineligible to enter.

4.     The Competition commences at 8.00am (WST) on Friday 6 May 2016 and entries close and must be received by 5.00pm (WST) on Sunday 8 May 2016 (Competition Period).

5.     An entry is deemed to be received at the time it is received by Synergy and not at the time of transmission by the entrant.   If the entrant’s privacy settings restrict Synergy from accessing the photo, their entry will be deemed ineligible.

6.     To enter the Competition, eligible participants must during the Competition Period:

        a.Take a photo (or selfie) of how they enjoy a SUNday in the sun; 
        b. log into their Facebook account; 
        c. and upload the photo to either: 
            i. Synergy’s Facebook (facebook.com/synergy) page with the hashtag #SUNdaySelfie; or
            ii. their own Facebook page or timeline or both with the hashtag #SUNdaySelfie, (Eligible Entry). 

7.    Only one Eligible Entry will be accepted for each Eligible Entrant and the first post received will be considered their official entry.

8.    Incomplete, infringing, indecipherable, illegal or offensive entries will be deemed invalid and the post removed.   Entries that feature any corporate advertising material or messages (other than Synergy) will be disqualified from entry and the post removed.

9.    The Competition prize is an electric bike (the Prize).  The Prize is valued at $1888.00 and there is 1 prize in total to be won. 

10.    Synergy will draw by random selection one Eligible Entrant to win the Prize at around 12.00pm on Monday 9 May 2016 at Synergy’s office at 219 St George’s Terrace, Perth WA 6000. 

11.    The winner will be notified by Facebook Messenger after the Prize draw, Synergy will also comment on the winning photo advising of the decision.   Synergy will require appropriate contact details from the winner in order to provide the Prize.  Synergy, 219 St George’s Terrace, Perth, WA 6000. 

12.    The winner will forfeit the Prize if the winner:

        a. does not respond within 48 business hours from the message being sent by Synergy through Facebook Messenger confirming they have won; or 
        b. elects to collect the Prize from Synergy and has not done so by Friday 20 May 2016.   

13.    Synergy accepts no responsibility for a Prize being damaged or lost in transit.

14.    If the Prize is unavailable for any reason, Synergy reserves the right to offer a substitute prize of equivalent value or specification or both.   Unless otherwise stipulated, no Prize is transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

15.     Any additional products or services not included in the Prize, but required by the winner, will need to be arranged and paid for by the winner. 

16.     Synergy accepts no responsibility and shall not be held legally liable or responsible for any accident, loss, injury or damage to any individual or property whether direct or indirect, whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise arising out of or in connection with the Competition or the Prize, before, during or after the Competition. 

17.    Without limiting clause 16, Synergy makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of any goods or services offered as a Prize.  This clause does not affect any rights a consumer may have which are unable to be excluded under Australian law.  To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability of Synergy or its employees or agents for breach of any such rights is limited to the payment of the costs of having the Prize supplied again.

18.    Each work submitted as part of an entry to the Competition (“Work”) becomes the property of Synergy.  As a condition of entry, each entrant irrevocably grants to Synergy a non-exclusive perpetual worldwide licence to use and exploit all intellectual property rights (including, without limitation, copyright) in and to the Work and consents to Synergy doing (or omitting to do) any acts in respect of the Work which may otherwise constitute an infringement of an entrant’s moral rights.

19.    Each entrant warrants to Synergy that the Work submitted is an original work of the entrant which does not infringe any rights of any third party.  A breach of these warranties will result in the entrant’s entry being invalid.  In addition, each entrant indemnified Synergy against all loss, damages and costs incurred by Synergy arising from that entrant’s breach of these warranties.

20.    The Competition winner consents to Synergy using his or her Work, name, suburb, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration for promotional purposes.  Synergy may publish this information on its website, in newsletters and on social media, including Facebook and Twitter.

21.    If for any reason beyond the reasonable control of Synergy, the Competition is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, Synergy reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, suspend or modify the Competition at any time with the prior written approval of the Gaming and Wagering Competition (WA).

22.    The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Twitter or any other social media service provider.   Eligible Entrants completely release Facebook, Twitter and any other social media service provider from any and all liability in connection with the Competition.

23.    The information entrants provide will be used by Synergy for the purpose of and relating to conducting the Competition and otherwise in accordance with Synergy’s Privacy Policy and Collection of Information Statement (available at synergy.net.au).

24.    The Competition is governed by the laws of Western Australia.
