WA EV Network inland route complete with Northam charger
Northam has joined Australia’s longest electric vehicle (EV) network with the opening of a WA EV Network fast charger on Grey Street.
The EV fast charger site is centrally located in the heart of Northam, near the Northam Visitor Centre, Bernard Park, local cafés, shops and amenities.
Located approximately 90 minutes from Perth in the beautiful Avon Valley, the town of Northam is home to a diverse range of attractions, including hot air ballooning and wildflower trails.
The new charging site features a 150kW fast charger, which can top-up EVs in about 20 minutes, and a back-up 22kW charger.
EV drivers can now travel inland from Perth to Kalgoorlie, stopping regularly at WA EV Network fast chargers in Northam, Merredin, Southern Cross and Coolgardie.
The WA EV network was recently listed on TIME magazine’s list of Top 100 World’s Greatest Places to visit in 2024. Delivering the EV charging infrastructure across Western Australia is providing regional development and tourism opportunities for Western Australia.
The WA EV Network is expected to be completed later this year and will feature 49 EV charging sites, averaging less than 200km apart. It is being delivered by Synergy and Horizon Power.
